The Project
This cost-free project is being delivered by the Devon, Plymouth and Torbay Careers Hub to mainstream and SEND schools in the North Devon area. It is inspired by future Green developments in North Devon and also by the growth in Green sector jobs and skill requirements identified in the Devon and Somerset Local Skills Improvement Plan. It will be delivered between September 2025 and July 2026.
Aims of the project
To raise awareness of jobs and careers that exist in the Green economy in its widest sense including those that could be available locally and nationally.
To inspire North Devon school pupils to consider employment in the Green economy.
What does it involve?
10 local organisations will deliver careers activities that will teach school pupils about the career pathways in their organisation, the qualifications needed, how their business contributes to the Green agenda and will provide opportunities for interactions with their staff.
A menu of these ‘activities’ is available to school Career Leaders from which they can select the activities they want to deliver to their pupils during the academic year.
The activities include …
- Interactive sessions in-school
- Interactive, hands-on sessions at an organisation’s site
- Virtual sessions
