Jump into Apprenticeships!

The Project

Jump into Apprenticeships! was initially a pilot project, funded by The Careers and Enterprise Company through the Heart of the South West Careers Hub and delivered in partnership with Exeter College and City College Plymouth, to Year 10 students at schools within the Ted Wragg Academy Trust.

Following the success of the pilot, we are looking to roll this out working with all 4 post 16 colleges across our patch over this academic year.

Aims of the project

To raise the profile and understanding of apprenticeships and technical education so that they are visible to young people, as well as teachers and parents. Young people who are interested in these routes, and gain a place on this project, will have the information and support they need to make informed decisions after year 11.

By providing dedicated support, interaction, and workplace experiences it is hoped that this project will give confidence and understanding of apprenticeships, technical and vocational education thus enabling the young people to make quality and successful applications onto a sustained pathway.

What does it involve?

There are termly activities which include workshops, visits to employers, college visits, introductions to training providers, sector information and research, potential work experience placements and a careers guidance interviews.
